Adventure holidays

For those of an adventurous disposition, a holiday is not a holiday until you have pushed the boundaries a little bit. Two weeks sunning yourself on the beach? Nah, you’re alright, a trip down Canada’s notoriously lively Magpie River in a raft sounds a bit more like it.

If you’re a thrill seeker who will be taking part in a sport or activity during your journey make sure you add the sports and activities pack to your quote and pay the additional premium, please refer to the policy wording for full details.

The thrill of an extreme sports holiday is found in the adrenaline rush of taking your body and mind to the limit, not in hefty medical bills, so good insurance cover is an absolute must! This is exactly what we at Kango aim to provide. Here are a few examples of extreme sports holidays that our sports and activities package provides cover for, and the best places to find that ultimate rush.

Rock climbing

Ever since our caveman ancestors first looked at a bit of rock and thought “wow, I’d like to get to the top of there”, rock climbing has been a thing. The El Chorro region of Andalusia, Spain offers some of the most stunning rock climbing opportunities anywhere in the world, and is relatively easy to reach from major airports, such as Malaga and Madrid. We offer cover for indoor and harnessed rock climbing.

If El Chorro is for the purists, canyoning in somewhere like Queenstown Canyon, New Zealand is for those who prefer a smorgasbord of extreme treats. This pastime will test your climbing, abseiling, swimming and diving skills.

White water rafting

White water rafting provides the perfect opportunity to really get to know yourself and what you can do. Factor in some stunning, iconic scenery – like Arizona’s Colorado River and Grand Canyon for example – and you have yourself a truly awe-inspiring adventure activity. We provide cover for white and black water rafting up to grade 4.

Similar to climbing, but in reverse, abseiling enables you to cover long vertical distances at a frighteningly quick pace, secured only by a rope, harness and belay device. Mount Buffalo in Victoria is one of the best spots in Australia to have a crack at this yourself. We provide cover for fully harnessed abseiling only.
