Cycling insurance

With Kango’s sports and activities package you can add cover to your policy for a range of activities, including cycling. Make sure you add the sports and activities pack to your quote and pay the additional premium for cycling to be covered. You may not be covered for certain sports and activities automatically if you don't opt for the 'sports & activities pack'. Please refer to policy wording for full details.

The sense of achievement you feel when you complete a biking trail is great, but it is nothing compared to the thrills and spills of the trail itself, when you're living in the moment and enjoying one of the most incredible experiences in the world.

If you’re a cycling aficionado, you will know exactly what we mean. Whether you are into mountain biking, road racing or touring, it is the little experiences you encounter on the way that create the best memories.

At Kango, we wholeheartedly believe in this, which is why we aim to give you the cover you need to get out into that big wide world and enjoy the ride! Take a look at some of the best locations in the world to pit your wits, skill and nerves against gravity.

Napa Valley, California, USA

The Napa Valley provides one the most idyllic settings for a cycling holiday, as well as some of the best food and wine (for after the cycling, of course) found anywhere in the USA. With topography that is suitable for complete beginners as well as road-honed speed demons, this is the place for your next cycling tour.

Looking for a chilled ride? Try the nearby Silverado Trail. Want something a bit more hardcore? Spring Mountain is happy to oblige. There really is something here to suit all abilities.

Stromlo Forest Park, Canberra, Australia

The 29 kilometres of trails at Stromlo Forest Park offer riders a choice of difficulty. Riders who really want to challenge themselves should try out the gravity-defying jumps and brutal terrain of the park’s more advanced routes, while anyone still finding their confidence in the saddle can hone their skills on the beginner or intermediate tracks.

Located in scrubland at an elevation of 611 metres, Stromlo Forest Park has something for everyone, and is widely regarded as one of the most varied, thrilling and downright enjoyable trails in Australia.

Butterfly Trail, Wutong Mountain, Shenzhen, China

As anyone who has visited The Great Wall will confirm, the Chinese don’t mess about. This ancient civilisation gave us paper, the compass, fireworks and, more recently, one of the most impressive mountain biking trails in Asia.

To sample the delights of the Butterfly Trail, you need to head to the province of Guangdong in China’s southeastern corner. Don’t be fooled by the poetic name, this trail features one of the most brutally sustained downhill sections in the world. Be sure to check that your shock-absorbers are up to scratch before you head over here!

The French Alps

For road racing fans, you won't find many more iconic locations than the Col de la Madeleine or the Alpe d'Huez. Nestled in the incredible surroundings of the French Alps, these two locations represent two of the most legendary climbs in the most legendary cycle race of them all, the Tour de France.

As you would expect from such a prestigious race, these are tough sections and require a certain degree of fitness and endurance as well as strong nerves and skill. Don't forget to pack your polka dot "King of the Mountains" jersey!

Ischgl, Austria

For riders who like to follow a tough day on the trails with a long night of partying, Ischgl in Austria will be right up your street. A beautiful Alpine setting and kilometre after kilometre of incredibly well-kept trails make this Austrian location and an absolute dream for biking fans.

Don’t forget to head to the famous Pacha nightclub in the town of Ischgl for some much needed r’n’r. Probably best to pack your glad rags if you’re planning a trip out here.

Get insured, stay safe and enjoy some of the best trails the big, wide world has to offer. Head over to our main page and check out some of our deals before your next mountain biking trip.
